........getting started

your first visit
We want every one of your visits at Valley Orthodontics to be a pleasant experience – starting with your first.  At this appointment, Dr. Valley will begin by discussing with you your specific concerns. She will then conduct a thorough orthodontic examination and review with you her recommended treatment along with various treatment options. She will provide an estimate of the length treatment time, along with a written estimate of all costs and various payment plans available.  She will make sure that all of your questions are answered so that you may make the best decisions regarding your orthodontic care.

patient forms
You can save time at our office by filling out your patient information forms from the convenience of your own home or office.  Simply download and print the appropriate forms below and bring them to the office with you when you come for your first visit.

You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader to download and print the patient information forms. Click here to download a free copy of the latest version of Acrobat Reader.

records & treatment planning
The next step in getting started is to get various diagnostic records on you, i.e.  x-rays, photographs and impressions for study models. Dr. Valley will carefully analyze these records and formulate a customized treatment plan for you. She will communicate with your general dentist in order to get their input on your overall dental health and proposed orthodontic care.

regular dental care
Before orthodontic treatment begins, you will be asked to see your general dentist for a routine cleaning and checkup appointment. Dr. Valley will verify with your dentist that your teeth and gums are healthy. Because dental hygiene is so important, regular visits to your dentist must continue every six months during your orthodontic treatment (or more often, if recommended). Communication between you, your general dentist and Dr. Valley is very important to the success of your treatment. Therefore, Dr. Valley will work hard to keep both you and your dentist informed about your treatment progress from beginning to end.

financial considerations
The cost of orthodontic treatment will depend on many factors, including the severity of the problem, its complexity and the length of treatment.  Dr. Valley feels that everyone deserves the smile of their dreams, and will make every effort to make orthodontics affordable.  Our office has a variety of convenient payment plans to accommodate your needs, including a No-Down-Payment Option, Affordable Monthly Plans, as well as Family Plans when there is more than one family member in treatment.

insurance
We accept assignment from most insurance plans.  We will review your insurance information with you and file the necessary claim forms to maximize your benefits.
Dollar for dollar, when you consider the lifetime benefits of a beautiful smile, orthodontics is truly a great deal.

appointments
We are committed to doing our very best to work with you to make your appointment times as convenient as possible; and, we also make every effort to be on time for our patients. Appointments are scheduled according to each patient's needs. Most patients are seen every 5 to 10 weeks to check their progress and make adjustments. If there are specific situations that require more frequent monitoring, we will schedule appointments accordingly.

We understand everyone’s lifestyle has become very busy and demanding.  Therefore, we offer early morning and evening appointments.  For our patients who are students, we try our very best to schedule their appointments after school hours.  However, sometimes this is not always possible.  Because most appointments are scheduled 5 to 10 weeks apart though, most patients will miss minimal school due to their orthodontic treatments.  We will however, make a sincere effort to meet your scheduling needs.
